  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1.25 cups grated parmesan cheese
  • 1.5 cups ricotta cheese
  • 2.5 cups marinara sauce
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, add olive oil, chopped onion, and minced garlic; sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant. Stir in ground beef along with oregano, salt, and pepper; cook until browned. Add marinara sauce and simmer for about 5 minutes.
  3. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine heavy cream with 1 cup grated parmesan cheese; stir until smooth.
  4. In a 9×13-inch baking dish, layer ingredients starting with meat sauce at the bottom followed by noodles, ricotta cheese, mozzarella cheese, cheddar cheese, and garlic sauce. Repeat layers twice more and finish with noodles topped with remaining sauce and reserved cheeses.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes; remove foil after this time and bake uncovered for an additional 20 minutes until golden brown.
  6. Let rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
